Manulife Vietnam is seeking a highly motivated and strategic individual to join our Corporate Strategy & Transformation team as an Assistant Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the development, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives that drive business growth, operational excellence, and innovation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with corporate priorities and market trends.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Cascade
- Coordinate with the leadership team and functional departments to support the development and cascade of the company’s strategic plan.
- Facilitate alignment of business priorities across departments and ensure timely execution of strategic initiatives.
- Support the preparation of strategic planning workshops and leadership offsites.
2. Market Intelligence
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging best practices in the insurance and financial services sectors.
- Prepare insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and innovation initiatives.
- Maintain a repository of market intelligence and strategic insights for internal use.
3. Strategy Execution
- Act as Project Manager for several key company-wide initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, and manage risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive execution and resolve issues.
4. Reporting & Governance
- Coordinate with regional and local teams to prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting of strategic initiatives, KPIs, and business performance.
- Support governance processes including preparation of materials for leadership and board-level meetings.
5. Ad-hoc Strategic Support
- Conduct research and prepare briefing materials for senior management on key topics and initiatives.
- Support planning and execution of corporate events, townhalls, and strategic communication activities.
- Assist in other strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, project management, or business transformation, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with project management tools is a plus.
