We are looking for Chief Accountant - Melia Vietnam (based at Ho Chi Minh Corportae Office)
Mission:
Take full ownership of the company’s General Ledger bookkeeping function, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintain the General Ledger with proper and timely recording of all financial transactions.
Execute the complete month-end closing cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and data integrity is maintained.
Prepare monthly financial reports, Melia-specific reports, and any additional reporting requirements.
Perform reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate closely with the Regional Business Partner and Hotel Business Partners in Vietnam to ensure alignment and support across financial operations role.
Main responsibilities:
Core competencies
1. Prepares journal entries and ensures proper recording of transactions to the book of accounts. Reviews account transactions and balances throughout the month so that incorrect posting/account charging are adjusted on time, investigate unusual transactions and adjust as necessary.
2. Takes full responsibility for maintenance of general ledger and chart of accounts.
3. Maintain master file of service contracts. Prepares payments on a weekly basic or any urgent payment if any.
4. In charge of E-invoice set up, issuing financial invoice on behalf of Client’s Vietnam company, quarterly invoice usage report, notification on invoice issuance, following up receivables, …
5. Preparation of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with VAS, or any other reports as requirement.
6. Prepares bank reconciliation on a monthly basic.
7. Coordinates with other sections in Finance and other departments and makes follow-up so that reports required are submitted on time for a timely month-end closing activities.
8. Ensures that complete cycle of month end closing is efficiently and accurately done and submitted on a timely manner.
9. Monthly or Quarterly VAT and WHT submission and declaration.
10. Liaising with the external auditors during annual or interim audit activities and preparing audit schedules requested by the external auditors.
11. Prepare reports that are required by tax or government, working with tax officers to handle issues related to finance and accounting.
12. Maintaining full confidentiality over the Company's Financial information.
13. Keep filing organized and updated.
14. Department records must be well kept for internal and external audits.
15. Other duties and responsibilities are assigned by line managers.

Main requirements:
- College Degree or Above. Have valid certificate of Chief Accountant
- Vietnamese – Native. English – Fluent
- Accounting software, Accounting Regulation
- Good Training Exposure
- Talent Development
- Strong Leadership
- Efficient Communication
- Strong knowledge about accounting system and accounting law of Vietnam
- SAP knowledge is desirable but not indispensable
- At least 2 years in in the same position in hospitality.
- Internal candidates: At least 1-year experience in the same position in hotel(s) of similar category and services.
