ABOUT THE POSITION
- Drive the creation of high-quality character and creature models. (Test/Pilot/Production)
- Working closely with the Art Director/Team Lead as well as the art team.
- Support Character Art Team Leader (TL) in overseeing the creation of 3D characters for AAA projects with diverse styles.
- Collaborate with rigging, tech art and animation to guarantee that models are optimal for animation needs.
- Ensure that everything going out for validations hits all technical specifications.
- Maintaining and improving the character production pipeline.
- Support, guide, and train team members and other teams (Character, Hard Surface, Environment) as requested by the Team Lead/Art Director.
- Support TL in setting up character art best practices and streamlining the production process.
- Step in as acting Team Lead for a certain period if the TL is absent.
- 7+ years of games industry experience as a character artist with at least 1 year in an art leadership role.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in modeling, including hard surface and organic assets for characters in-game. Shows your human player. characters, human enemy player characters, and monsters or creatures.
- Proper understanding of the game creation process, from concept to launch.
- Good understanding of effective character creation workflows and pipelines.
- Expert knowledge in 3D modelling software such as Maya & ZBrush.
- Excellent knowledge in material and texture creation such as Substance Painter and proficient Substance Designer.
- Comprehensive understanding of PBR pipeline.
- Comfortably working in industry standard game engine such as UE & Unity.
- Flexibility to quickly adapt to constant technical changes & knowledge updates.
- Proactive and self-motivated, ability to work without direct supervision.
- Intermediate English.
