Job Description

Job Purpose:

• We’re looking for a passionate Middle/Senior Game Designer to join Gameloft Saigon, working on exciting projects across a variety of genres, including open-world adventure, racing, action, casual, educational kids’ games, famous IP-based titles, and more to come. You’ll play a key role in shaping the game’s vision by defining design intentions, crafting gameplay systems, mechanics, levels, and combat design while collaborating with cross-functional game development teams to deliver engaging player experiences.
• You’ll be part of a dynamic team of 20+ multicultural game designers, growing together through hands-on collaboration, knowledge sharing, internal training, all within our vibrant Saigon studio in Ho Chi Minh city.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and develop gameplay mechanics, levels, and systems ensuring that they are intuitive, easy to understand, and enjoyable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to integrate GD content and ensure alignment with project team's objectives.
• Create and maintain game design documents, including concept pitches, feature specifications, and user interface designs.
• Prototype and iterate on game concepts to refine gameplay mechanics and user interactions, considering feedback from internal teams and user testing sessions.
• Balance gameplay difficulty and complexity to accommodate the cognitive and motor skills development of players as well as the game economy.
• Adapt and modify game design elements based on feedbacks and technical constraints, maintaining flexibility throughout the design process.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in game design to continually innovate and improve our products.

Qualifications

• Good English skills.
• More than 2 years of experience in Game Design for middle level, and 4+ years for senior level, along with a strong passion for video games and solid understanding of market trends and retro gaming
• Proven track record with a portfolio demonstrating successful and shipped projects.
• Solid knowledge of core Game Design principles across aspects such as gameplay mechanics, systems, UI/UX and player progression. Your expertise in level design and combat design is a plus.
• Proficient in game design supporting tools and game engine such as Unity, Unreal Engine.
• Experience collaborating with data analyst and designing with a data-driven mindset.
• Creative problem-solving skills with a passion for creating entertaining and high-quality games
• Flexible, self-disciplined, highly motivated, and committed to achieving the final game result and company goals.
