Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused In Room Dining Order Taker to join our team at our luxurious resort in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a vital member of our In Room Dining team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests enjoy a seamless and memorable dining experience from the comfort of their rooms.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, taking guest orders with precision and attention to detail
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the guest experience
- Accurately input orders into the Point of Sale system, ensuring all special requests and dietary requirements are properly recorded
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders
- Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and concerns efficiently and courteously
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of all transactions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and special events
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Assist with additional tasks as required to support the In Room Dining department
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Familiarity with Point of Sale systems and order-taking procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Basic mathematical skills for handling orders and payments accurately
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage items, including awareness of common allergens and dietary restrictions
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as carry trays and dining equipment when necessary
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, consistently prioritising guest satisfaction
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
