The Role:


QS is supporting the Office of Admissions at The University of Tampa, seeking a dynamic and highly motivated regional student recruitment talent to help the university in driving international student recruitment initiatives in Southeast Asia region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in recruiting and advising prospective students from Southeast Asia region for both undergraduate and graduate programs.


Role responsibilities:


  • Recruitment: Actively engage with international prospective students through various channels to promote undergraduate and graduate programs. Assist with research and development of the international marketing strategy and implement-approved plans in coordination with the university’s Assistant VP for International Enrolment.
  • Advisory Services: Provide comprehensive guidance to prospective students regarding admission requirements, application procedures, and academic programs.
  • Application Processing: Manage and process international student applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with admission standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with academic departments and other stakeholders to stay informed about program offerings and changes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for applicants.
  • Events and Outreach: Represent the institution at international events, fairs, and educational exhibitions to promote our programs and establish partnerships.
  • Counselling: Offer support and counselling to international students, addressing queries related to admissions, academic requirements, and campus life. Serve as a liaison between the Office of International Student Services and international student applicants and their families.
  • Other duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned during the annual admission cycle.

Key skills and experience:


Essential Requirements


  • Educated to degree level (or with equivalent professional experience), with a background in student recruitment or a similar student-focused environment, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive, equitable engagement and support practices.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products and web applications required.
  • Extensive international travel required, both domestic and internationally (approximately 50%)
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Possess or quickly develop a thorough knowledge of American ‘s international student visa regulations, and general knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of admission processes and academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with diverse cultural backgrounds and an understanding of international education systems.

Desirable Requirements


  • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification in business or marketing. A qualification from the American or familiarity with the American education system would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Overseas study or living experience.
  • Experience of developing marketing campaigns and using social media as a communication tool.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Southeast Asia higher education system and understanding of the range of issues relevant to students contemplating studying overseas
  • Strong planning ability around developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans.
  • Good interpersonal skills including networking and relationship management
