Job Description
Get to Know the Team
The FinApp team is a part of the larger Finance Cortex division within Grab. This team primarily develops software solutions that automate and improve financial processes.
Get to Know the Role
We are looking for a visionary Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vietnam. As an important member of our engineering leadership, you will drive the development of modern software solutions, mentor team members, and contribute to the technical strategy of our organization. You will work onsite at Grab office, CMC Creative Space, D7, HCMC and report to the Engineering Manager.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, promoting a collaborative and work environment
- Design and implement scalable software architectures, with a focus on stream processing and real-time data systems
- Collaborate with teams to define project requirements and deliverables
- Promote the use of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve our software development processes
- Participate in architectural discussions and make key decisions that shape the future of our products
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of platform availability and reliability SLAs
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and security across our software stack
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in software engineering and data processing
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience leading teams or projects in software engineering, data engineering, or information security disciplines
- Proven expertise in stream processing technologies such as Apache Flink or Apache Spark Streaming
- Strong proficiency in Scala or Java programming languages
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and other message queuing systems
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Strong system design and architecture skills
- Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
