Data Quality & Self-Service Enablement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- As our first Analytics Engineer, you'll be the founding member of VUS's data team, building the foundation for data-driven decision making across our Edtech platform. You'll transform raw data into clean, reliable datasets that empower business stakeholders to answer their own questions through self-service analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Transformation & Modeling
- Build and maintain data models using dbt to create clean, business-ready datasets in ClickHouse
- Design dimensional models and fact tables that abstract complexity from end users
- Apply software engineering practices: version control with Git, code reviews, testing, and documentation
Data Quality & Self-Service Enablement
- Implement dbt testing to ensure data accuracy and catch issues before they reach business users
- Create intuitive data structures and naming conventions for non-technical stakeholders
- Help business teams to build dashboards and reports in Superset, eventually enabling self-service and EDA on other alternative tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with backend engineers on data ingestion and operational data modeling
- Work with product and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions
- Collaborate with DevOps to maintain data

Experience & Skills
- 3-5 years in analytics, data modeling, or related data roles
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in data warehouses (ClickHouse preferred)
- Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation
- Python programming for data processing and automation
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative development
Technical Stack
- Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Data orchestration tools (Airflow preferred)
- BI tools (Superset, Looker, Tableau, or similar)
- Modern data warehouse technologies
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills to work with both technical and business stakeholders
- Problem-solving mindset focused on enabling self-service analytics
- Detail-oriented approach to data quality and documentation
- Ability to work independently as the founding data team member
