Job Summary
Tetra Pak is the Group’s Global Headquarters, located in Pully/Lausanne, Switzerland. Tetra Pak develops, manufactures, and markets systems for processing, packaging, and distribution of food. We produce packaging material at 40 plants and have 36 market companies and 78 sales offices around the world. Every day more than 488 million Tetra Pak packages are distributed in more than 170 countries.
We are looking for a Tax Manager who will lead the Tax Compliance and Planning (Direct and Indirect Tax) for Vietnam market. This includes supporting the tax management for Tetra Pak Vietnam & Tetra Pak Binh Duong, overall management of the tax compliance scope and end to end tax compliance process, management and prioritization of projects and new continuous improvement initiatives, management & monitoring of tax compliance costs, strong collaboration, and communication with TLI and ensuring best practice initiatives are implemented and upheld. In addition, support tax ops with business expertise on the tax compliance process, solve everyday tax compliance problems quickly and effectively and provide regular tax compliance updates and training when required.
The position will be based in Ho Chi Minh City and report to Regional Senior Tax Manager APAC
What you will do
As a Tax Manager, you will:
- Ensure that the organization meets its tax obligations & objectives complying with all relevant laws and regulations, e.g. all tax returns & payments are filed correctly and on time
- Perform all tax compliance routines (accurately and on time) related to Corporate Income Tax, withholding taxes, VAT and all other applicable indirect taxes
- Consultancy to the business areas of the company regarding Tax matters, managing all tax accounting processes, including internal reporting & summary, forecasting and government report/survey needs Manage internal and external stakeholders, e.g. develop and maintain stable relationship with local tax bureaus, work closely with external tax advisors while retaining the overall ownership of the process Leading and Coordinating Tax audits (CIT, VAT,
- Customs) and pre-empting any potential issues. Support and follow up on cases under litigation
- Take the lead in resolving systematic issues in the eInvoicing integration system Support strategic tax planning to minimize risks and optimize tax costs
- Take lead in the APA (Advance Pricing Process) and work with our consultants and competent authorities Drive
- Transfer Pricing documentation regulatory requirements together with our consultants
- Drive SAP system regarding indirect and direct taxes changes and adaptation GAPs, manage all other parallel systems that sustains the tax environment
- Perform analysis of tax related GL Codes and deferred tax, periodically as required by group financial reporting instruction following IFRS and local GAAPs
- Understand new updated changes in tax legislation proposed by MOF/GDT and work on an implementation strategy
- Manage potential issues regarding customs valuation and transfer pricing
- Experience in customs regulations especially for EPE including customs procedures, customs finalization reports
- Take the lead in deploying Tetra Pak group’s projects to Vietnam market
- Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives with respect to the tax compliance process and the end-to-end process. Seek out improvement areas and ensure that the processes work as they should in conjunction with global tax compliance requirements
- Directly manage a tax analyst based in Thailand as part of the provision of tax operations support to the Thai market
- Assist Regional Senior Manager Tax APAC with day-to-day tasks required to run tax ops effectively, i.e., brainstorm to find new ways of reducing costs and improving processes (including research on external best practices), participation in key meetings, support with specific projects/workshops etc
We believe you have
- Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in taxes gained from a previous role, including tax compliance experience, with 2-4 years’ experience at manager level (“Big 4” experience also an advantage)
- University Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Law. Government University Degree on Tax / Certified Tax Accountant
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations is essential
- Fluency in English is essential
- Strong ERP knowledge is essential with SAP/R3 knowledge an advantage
- Ability to effectively people manage and motivate a multi-location-based tax ops team
- Continuous process improvement and cost saving skills & mentality essential
- Ability to troubleshoot with respect to tax compliance issues
- Ability to document processes and functional specifications
- Ability to working effectively in a global team-based environment
- Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously and set key priorities
