Key Responsibilities:
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization working to improve the quality of life of people, especially children who are marginalized and living in poverty. World Vision helps all who are in need, regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity or gender. As a child-focused organization, WV’s work focuses on children, ensuring they are protected and their basic needs are met. World Vision Vietnam (WVV) has been funded from 13 support countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Funding of WVV consists of sponsorship program funding (70%) and Private Non-Sponsorship (PNS)/grants (30%). WVIV employs about 370 staff, of which 99% are Vietnamese nationals. WVIV is operating in 29 Area Programs (AP) in 4 zones: North 1 (Dien Bien, Ha Noi, Hai Phong), North 2 (Thanh Hoa, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh), Central (Quang Tri and Da Nang), and South (Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh, Lam Dong, An Giang).
WVV’s Area Program (AP) usually focuses within one administrative district of a province which populated by ethnic minority people with high rates of poverty. A uniqueness of WVV’s Development Program Approach (DPA) is that AP team members are based at district level where the AP is located, which enables them to work closely with government partners and communities on a daily basis. Besides the APs, WVV is also implementing different Special and Grant Projects to meet the specific needs of vulnerable children in both AP and non-AP areas.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Vehicle Driving and Maintenance (75% of time)
- Driving vehicles (pick-up truck) for various staff/visitors and performance of other assigned duties are done safely and responsibly. The vehicle usage and maintenance logbooks are updated with records of trips and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensuring pickup and drop off at the right time and right place as requested
- The vehicles are always fit to run before the start of trip. Fuel, oil, and battery, fluid level, tire pressure and condition are regularly checked.
- Daily checking the conditions of windows, doors, lights, and wipers
- The vehicles papers, such as registration certificate and insurances, are safely kept and renewed on time.
- Driving for various staff/visitors and performance of other assigned duties are done safely and responsibly.
- Update the vehicle usage and maintenance on logbooks with records of trips and vehicle maintenance.
- Strictly follow WVV policy in managing, maintaining vehicles and safety guideline
- Regular and scheduled maintenance of vehicle/s.
- Keep the vehicles clean and protected al time.
End Results:
- All Staff/visitors are drop off safely at the right time and right place
- The vehicles are always clean, protected from vandalism or damage at all time and regularly maintenance.
- The vehicles are always in the conditions of meet the standard of safety and regulation of laws to use.
Administrative Assistance (15% of time)
- Be in charge of vehicle registration/extension for NO, Aps and Projects
- Assist in making monthly payments for administrative services such as stationery, drinking water, etc.
- When not driving, cover reception duties and back up for Admin Assistant when staff is absent and help in all administrative duties as assigned.
- Any other work as given by the supervisor is completed.
End Results: All the administrative works are made with a timely manner.
Vehicle Safety and Security (10% of time)
- Coordinate with drivers in Central zone to ensure the office cars being well-maintained and maintain the record of WVV car maintenance and repair
- Ensure the office cars are operated accordance to Vehicle Operating Requirements (of Global Fleet Management - WVI) and WVV Code of Conduct
- Assist to solve the car related incidents if any in accordance with Vehicle Accident Response Standards
End result: All cars are well-maintained and decreasing the car broken issues arisen during the trips.
KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
- At least 5 years driving experience, including driving experience to mountainous areas
- Working experience in foreign concern or in INGO is preferable
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- High school graduate
- A valid car driving license (B2)
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Physically and mentally fit.
- Good English listening and speaking skills.
- Servant attitude with humility and willingness to help all others.
- Well-mannered.
- Ability to work and relate well with staff, guests, and visitors.
- Willingness to work overtime and non-working days when needed.
- Maintain a No Smoking policy at all times
- No drinking of alcohol and/or gambling (playing cards e.g.) while on project trip or during office hours.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time
