A. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will drive the growth and profitability of the Air Freight business in the Mekong Area (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar) by translating global strategy and initiatives into Area Product, Carrier and Performance plans as well as ensuring this plan is executed correctly. This person will be responsible for delivering a superior experience to Maersk customers and the execution of all Air Freight tasks on time to support our Customers' success within the Air products.
1/ Strategy/Product Management:
Identify market trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
Own the execution of global initiatives and strategy within the Area.
Build bridges between Product development, Operations and Sales.
Ensure that you are in communication with other Area Air teams. It is essential to develop a strong team culture.
Maintain strong alignment with the regional Air team.
2/ Carrier and Customer Relationship Management / Procurement:
Develop extremely strong local carrier relationships, it is for you to make the difference. Carrier relationship is key to our growth strategy.
Support the CEN function in maintaining carrier relations.
Drive cost reductions by optimal allocation with carriers and contracts.
Actively build strong relationships with customers.
Own customer experience.
Personally sponsor the top 60% of the customer relationships that are key to the success of our air freight product
3/ Pricing Management:
Area responsibility for all Air Freight Pricing activities includes but not limited to Price setting Strategy and Margins.
Ensure that we build a plan and communicate the plan to regional and global stakeholders for the investment strategies we need to develop.
Work with Carriers to ensure that we are fulfilling commitments and generating a better-than-market buying price
Critically evaluate the risk appetite for committing BSA/Charter to enable our pricing strategy.
4/Operations Execution:
Responsible for the end-to-end file execution on time and on plan to support our customers' success in a lean and cost-efficient manner.
Ensuring the team adheres to the standard process and customer-specific IOP’s and monitors respective KPI’s.
Implementation of standard processes and systems within the District and ensuring documentation is in place
Implement new systems to ensure that we are at our most effective, This will include new execution systems as well as underlying improvements through review of our current processes. We want to be the most effective Air Freight Department in the world.
5/ Performance Management:
Manage and improve the performance of the Service/Product in the Area.
Product profitability. Focus on maximizing revenue, EBIT and GP through upselling and cost management.
Strengthen the engagement with the global network and drive value through the network.
A service failure is our brand reputation; if we fail, we need to ensure that we are learning and adjusting in an unrelenting action to be the best.
B. ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Own and build a robust growth strategy to make us become a top Air Freight forwarder.
The annual Area Air Freight Budget.
The service performance of the Air Freight team for the Area with our customers.
The productivity of our staff in meeting the demands of our customers' needs.
To work with sales in a proactive manner in ensuring our product is market beating, to ensure that we can support growth.

C. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Have at least 10 years of experience in leadership positions that are related to Air Freight/ Air Logistics / Air Products experience.
Candidates with strong Air Freight experience in Asia and can manage multiple countries will have an advantage.
Have a strong strategic mindset and strong execution skills.
Having strong P&L management experience. Can anticipate future product performance delivery and factor this into overall pricing strategy decisions.
Ability to identify Customer pain points using qualitative and quantitative data.
Have a strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail and a drive to serve customers mindset.
Have strong leadership skills to manage and develop the team.
Ability to communicate clearly and set focus/direction.
