In this role, you will organise and conduct experimental work, draw conclusions from your findings, and contribute to the development of new or improved product formulations. Under the direction of a supervisor, you will also provide technical support for both new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow direction and execute assigned experimentation with some involvement from supervisor, discusses work with supervisor daily
- Records experimental output in a condensed, tabulated or graphic form to concisely communicate results and trends.
- Draw conclusions from work and demonstrates attention to detail. Detects anomalies in experimental parameters or results.
- With guidance from supervisor, provides technical support to other functions.
- Has a basic knowledge of PPG & competitor product portfolio.
- Keeps lab appropriately supplied, keeps basic equipment functioning and certifiably calibrated.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve formulation efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Understands and consistently practices EHS processes relevant to the job in the working environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years' work experience in a technical role at a relevant company within the chemical or coatings industry.
- Knowledge of paint making, testing techniques, color theory, comprehension of paint manufacturing and production processes.
- Local language proficiency and English is a must, Mandarin is a nice to have
- Working knowledge of all laboratory and EHS procedures.
