As Director of Legal and Compliance, you’ll lead the design and execution of our global legal strategy, regulatory affairs, and compliance operations. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the C-level, with the opportunity to influence the fintech policy landscape in Asia.
Your Mission: Own and elevate Trusting Social’s legal and compliance function across our markets. Act as both a trusted advisor and public-facing leader in all legal-regulatory engagements.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal guidance to senior leadership on fintech, data, embedded lending, and corporate law matters
- Lead and scale a high-performing legal & compliance team, with a focus on talent development and training
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government regulators, central banks, and industry associations
- Oversee contract negotiations (SaaS, banking partnerships, licensing, data use)
- Ensure cross-jurisdictional compliance with data privacy, consumer finance, AML/CFT, and AI laws
- Direct internal compliance audits, risk reviews, and governance enhancements
Requirements
- 10+ years post-qualified legal experience, with a valid lawyer license
- Fintech or tech-sector background, with regulatory experience across SEA or India
- Track record of managing legal teams and interacting with public sector bodies
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese; excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments
