We are a European-based electronics manufacturer with almost 30 years of experience delivering fully integrated production solutions. With in-house capabilities spanning PCB manufacturing, electronics assembly, and plastic injection moulding, we streamline the entire process, offering our partners greater speed, flexibility, and control over costs and lead times. We are expanding our manufacturing operations to Vietnam, which is located in Vinh Loc Industrial Park 2, Ben Luc District, Long An Province.
We are looking for an experienced Head of SMT Department who will manage all aspects of the SMT process. You will develop and coordinate both new and existing products while ensuring that all machinery and equipment are optimised for production. Your ability to coordinate engineering activities across various departments will be crucial in meeting customer requirements. This leadership role is pivotal in building a quality team and driving excellence in our newly established facility of a multinational electronic manufacturing corporation.
In this role, you will:

Manage all activities related to SMT and THT assembly machines, equipment, tools, jigs, fixtures, and processes.

Ensure efficient organization and smooth operation of SMT, THT, and manual soldering processes in production.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with quality standards, technological requirements, and the schedule.

Collaborate with engineering, testing, supply chain, and quality departments to resolve technical issues;

Participate in the launch of new products and the optimization of production processes.

Support root cause analysis, analyze processes, and implement best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Responsible for the department budget, follow up and responsible for managing and controlling the purchasing of the department.

Process documentation development, including work instructions, training guides, and internal quality standards;

Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Supervise and ensure effective employee relations:

Hire and train skilled operators, technicians, workers, and other support personnel.

Provides employee coaching and development opportunities.

Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
What we expect of you:

At least 02 years of experience managing a production unit in electronics manufacturing (especially SMT and THT processes).

Understanding of IPC standards and quality requirements in electronics manufacturing is an advantage.

Knowledge of 6S, Lean/Kaizen, and ISO systems is an advantage.

Good computer skills, analysis skills, decision-making, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Language proficiency: Vietnamese – required, Good command of English (spoken and written).
