Job Description:
The Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Supervisor to join our team in a permanent full-time role. The main focus of this role will be to promote and maintain a safe work environment for all employees within UPS. You will assist in ensuring regulatory and UPS policy compliance, execution of unit strategies, tactics, and improvement initiatives to prevent injuries and auto crashes, reduce workers compensation and liability costs, and mitigate risk. This position also assists in maintaining external relationships with professional, regulatory, and community organisations to provide a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will be required to:
Assists in the development and execution of the district/business unit-wide Health and Safety action plan to maintain a safe work environment.
Conduct safety training and certifications
Conducts site visits and attends safety committee meetings to respond to internal customer health and safety requests and concerns.
Reviews regulatory compliance information and training to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and identify and correct gaps.
Oversee and assist Return to work Co-ordinator and workers compensation claims
Manage internal WHS internal systems
Liaise with our operations teams to conduct risk assessments, write SOPs and conduct incident investigations.
Collaborates cross-functionally to investigate, analyze, and resolve critical business concerns related to injury and auto crash prevention and wellness.
Develops action plans that address root causes of the most common and severe injuries and auto crashes.
Other ad-hoc work as directed by the Manager
In this role due to the nature of the operations, you will be required to work hours outside of this band
Requirements
Candidate must posses at least a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in any field
Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in handling health & safety portfolio
Return to work Co-ordination experience (preferable)
Possess creative and innovative thinking in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex and/or cross department problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills (both English and Vietnamese)
Exceptional analytical skills utilized in complex business environment
Advanced MS Office skills
