I. Job identification
Position : Junior Agronomist

II. Key Organizational Relationships
Report to : R&D Director Crops / Corn Production Specialist
Supervise : N/A
III. Summary of responsibilities
This position will provide hands-on support to the Corn Production Specialist by assisting with the day-to-day execution of activities related to corn production, farmer engagement, and field data collection.
IV. Duties and responsibilities
1. Support for agricultural extension and knowledge development
- Support in collecting field data and maintaining farm book records
- Conduct regular farm visits to monitor compliance and implementation of recommended practices
- Support trial setup, routine monitoring, and basic documentation
- Assist in the logistical coordination and delivery of field days, demonstration plots, and farmer meetings
- Contribute to routine reporting and documentation of extension activities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
2. Value chain support activities
- Participate in collecting relevant data from farmers and local actors to support value chain analysis
- Support in in the preparation and consolidation of production and cost data for analytical use
- Provide coordination and logistical support for field evaluations and stakeholder engagements
- Prepare initial records and activity summaries under the guidance of the Corn Production Specialist.
Desired qualifications:
Minimum Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Horticulture, Agricultural Production Technologies, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
- Background in agronomy; experience with corn production is an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in agriculture; fresh graduates with a strong desire to learn and grow are encouraged to apply
- Experience in providing extension services to farmers, such as training of famers and or experience in financial analyse of agricultural production systems is an advantage.
Language:
- Excellent in both verbal and written Vietnamese
- Basic English communication skills required; proficiency in English is an advantage
- Ability to communicate effectively with local communities, including ethnic minority groups in Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk, and Đắk Nông, is an advantage
Special Skills Required:
- Good communication skills (with local farmers)
- A strong passion to learn and develop new agriculture technologies and knowledge and make them available for farmers
- Basic word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
