Job Description
- Responsible for LSP management for international freight, focusing on air freight and express, and back up for other international freight mode in and out ASEAN area, such as sea freight, multi-modal, etc., wherever ASEAN legal entities or plants are the freight payers
- Responsible for network design for international freight, in the same area as the LSP management, so that the position has the drive and power towards LSPs, in order to reach best cost efficiency and lead time efficiency for Bosch
- Mentor for operational team members, i.e., control tower, LCC, etc., to guide them in terms of expertise in international freight, focusing on air freight and express
- LSP management
- Explore potential LSPs in the market, and regularly make LSP benchmarking exercises, and develop/manage incumbent LSPs accordingly
- Ensure LSPs are providing high quality of services and fulfillment of service requirements
- Take escalations in case of any complaints or issues encountered by ASEAN legal entities or plants, and initiate systematic problem solving approach, for example PDCA cycle to ensure no more occurrence in the future
- Proactively engage with all stakeholders for fast problem recognition, and take actions proactively, to avoid/eliminate escalations and complaints from internal customers
- Carry out QBR with LSPs with key stakeholders, follow up and then attend global performance review to make sure LSPs are cooperating to the maximum extent
- Calculate penalty for each LSP based on performance for all legal entities or plants in the region, or follow up claim process until penalty is paid by LSPs
- Network design and tender
- Collect historical shipment data from all plants and legal entities in ASEAN, clarify the data and do proper data processing to make it usable for network design purposes
- Work with internal customers to clarify the volume forecast, and work with purchasing to incorporate that into air and sea freight tender
- Propose optimized routing or transport mode based on historical volume and customer requirement clarification, for example, LCL/LCL/LCL to LCL/FCL/FCL, air to sea, etc., also switch LSPs based on alignment to achieve best cost efficiency and performance for Bosch
- Allocate volume to awarded LSPs, and make sure internal customers follow the network design proposal during on-boarding of LSPs
- Network optimization
- Review network design on a regular basis and propose new route/transport mode to purchasing and internal customers by building up business case
- Convince stakeholders in the region and get their consensus in the proposal by showing cost saving, CO2 reduction, or lead time reduction, etc..
- Work with LSPs, purchasing and internal customers to realize the network design optimization
- Contingency management
- Fast escalation contact point in the region for any contingency scenarios, such as COVID, natural disasters, etc..
- Global task force coordination of stakeholders in the region
- Global coordination forecast and capacity validation in the region
- Consultancy
- Contact point for any inquiries from internal customers in the region on new route or new transport mode, or contract interpretation in terms of non commercial topics
- Able to propose alternative network/routing depending on the resource availability in the market and incorporate into regional network design roadmap
- Representative of ASEAN region in global team
- Collaborate with LSP managers and network design experts in other region to seek for collaboration and optimization of network on a bigger scale, for example, EU-ASEAN, EMEA-APAC
- Roll out good practice from ASEAN to other regions, and vice versa
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics related subjects
- 3 years+ in international transport, preferably with key account and network design experience
- 3 years+ in LSP management, and project management
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, excellent communication skills and assertiveness
- Detailed oriented, can go deep in the situation and investigate the root cause
- Ability to work with non-perfect data, and good analytic skills, can identify opportunities from a massive amount of raw data
- Fluent communications skills in English
