Science & Technology PMO Manager (Dong Nai Site)
The Global Science & Technology (S&T) division provides technical expertise to our animal health manufacturing organizations, leveraging science, technology and innovation to ensure new product commercialization and supply continuity. It continuously improves processes and analytics to meet customer demands through manufacturing excellence. At manufacturing plants, we work integrated in the local teams, while in parallel being fully connected to the global manufacturing network to ensure seamless information and know-how flows, securing the quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
For the site in Dong Nai, Vietnam, we have an opening for a Science and Technology Project Management Officer (PMO). The candidate will be responsible among others for supporting successful process & analytical transfer of the Warm Water portfolio (13 products) from Chengdu (CN) into Dong Nai (VN) and will provide project management support to local S&T and site operational activities. The role reports to the global Atlantis S&T Lead with dotted line to the site S&T lead and will closely interact with other site and global functions. This role is a two-year assignment requiring a solid project management foundation, excellent communication skills and strong collaboration abilities across the franchise and the wider company, including quality, operations, engineering, supply chain, regulatory / trade compliance, and commercial operations in China, for collective success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Project Management – Supports the timely delivery of transfer of 13 products from Chengdu into Dong Nai. Identifies risks and opportunities and secures timely and adequate communication to internal stakeholders and management. Supports building and enhancing the highly engaged Science & Technology team in Dong Nai through utilization of our Ways of Working for product transfers with a “Fit for Purpose” mindset. Drives our company’s culture of safety, compliance and technical excellence. Has excellent communication skills enabling cross-site and cross functional collaboration to connect and integrate the Dong Nai operation in the broader our company network.
- Technical Excellence – Understanding the warm water franchise and the products it contains would be an advantage. Leverages that know-how to support data-driven decision making across product transfers and running site processes. Helps drive continuous process improvements in collaboration with site leadership when required to increase capacity, enhance process or analytical robustness and/or decrease cost-of-goods (COGs). Helps to plan, execute and track progress of key projects (transfers and others) in the program.
- Supply – Facilitates on-time, right-first-time technology transfer of processes to the site and supply of product and from the site. Collaborates with partner groups (operations, quality, regulatory, etc) to ensure file on time. Supports the development of a stock-build and change over strategy from Chengdu manufacturing to supply from Dong Nai only.
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, or related field
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors with at least (6) years of relevant post-graduate experience; Or Master of Science degree and at least (4) years of relevant post-graduate experience; Or a Doctoral degree with at least (2) years of relevant post-graduate experience
- Excellent project management skills (PMP, CAPM) with a minimum of 3 years experience in a complex, multifactorial, program management role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent communication skills, cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Good command of the English language, preferably also Chinese and Vietnamese.
- Pragmatic, flexible and well organized, having a “make it happen” mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of the warm water franchise and or the Dong Nai site would be an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial (Pharmaceutical) manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in working with products, tests and processes in an Animal Health environment
- Demonstrated ability to create a network of know -how and best practice sharing, engaging teams aligned with company values and applying our Ways of Working in a pragmatic “fit for purpose” manner
- Demonstrated successes with either Change Management, reorganization, and / or strategic initiatives
- Experience with WW product relevant regulatory bodies or trade compliance bodies (like MARA, GACC)
- Demonstrated experience using MPS tools
