Report to: Head of Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance SEA
Your Roles:
In your role as Senior Regulatory Management and Trade Compliance Specialist, you drive the leadership and management of regulatory and trade compliance activities in Vietnam, contributing directly to the seamless execution of business operations while ensuring full adherence to local laws and guidelines relevant to Life Science activities. You’ll play a key part in building and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders such as Quality, Customer Service, and Sales & Marketing teams, working closely with them to make a real difference. This is your chance to bring your expertise, passion, and ideas to the table and help shape the regulatory landscape that supports business needs and optimizes the business model.
Strategy:
- Build relationships and advocacy with local authorities and trade associations regarding Life Science interests while safeguarding the company's strategic objectives in emerging regulations.
- Support businesses in adapting to rapidly changing legal requirements.
- Drive the digitalization strategy and implement automation tools to enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Develop and update trade compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and clarify roles and responsibilities for effective collaboration.
- Monitor policy implementation, communicate regulatory changes, and conduct implications analysis while coordinating self-assessments and reporting on regulatory compliance status in Vietnam.
2. Operational Excellence:
- Manage the regulatory pathway for company Life Science products and services in Vietnam, ensuring timely application for licenses and renewals in collaboration with the Supply and Distribution team.
- Provide guidance on risk assessments, identify compliance impacts, and represent the company in sensitive matters with authorities and trade associations.
- Check shipments for required licenses and permits, preparing necessary applications to ensure compliance before arrival.
- Coordinate registration and notification activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while managing changes and reporting on status.
- Interface with customs authorities and freight forwarders for import/export processes, support customs clearance, and maintain compliance with local regulations.
Who You Are:
- Degree in life science area (e.g. Chemistry, Science or Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, related science), law, or international trade.
- At least 8-years Regulatory Management and Trade compliance experience in multi-national life science relevant industries.
- Extensive knowledge of chemical law in Vietnam including hazardous chemical control law, Chemical Weapon Control, Chemical inventory, industrial precursor, and experienced in obtaining import license for Life Science related products.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 365 and standard Microsoft office modules. Familiar with Power automate and Power BI are preferable.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Vietnamese.
