The Regional Marketing team is responsible for in-app campaign planning, product marketing, partnerships and content strategy to drive acquisition and engagement. The Regional Brand and Growth Marketing team covers all aspects of online and performance marketing, which involve tracking and measuring data to better reach our users. Our local marketing teams work closely with the regional teams to localise and adapt strategies to increase brand awareness and acquisition in each market. Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and curious individual to join our Strategic Market Insight (SMI) team. This role is at the intersection of insight generation, strategic thinking, and execution — ideal for someone who thrives on uncovering signals in the market, making sense of buyer behavior, and shaping impactful recommendations.
This role will:
- Turn Market Signals into Insights: Identify and interpret trends in buyer behavior, market shifts, and competitor moves — using both structured research and data analysis as inputs.
- Translate Insights into Strategy: Build compelling storylines and recommendations that influence how Shopee positions itself in the e-commerce landscape.
- Enable Cross-Functional Decisions: Work with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure insight-driven thinking is embedded in key business choices.
- Shape Strategic Narratives: Support leadership by framing complex findings into clear, actionable narratives that guide long-term direction.
Requirements:
- Strong ability to generate insights from multiple sources (data, research, and market intelligence)
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and complexity
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to turn insights into persuasive recommendations
- Self-driven and proactive, with 3–5 years of professional experience (consulting, strategy, or consumer/market insights roles a plus)
- Familiarity with market research methods, competitive analysis, or consumer insight tools
- Experience in e-commerce, digital platforms, or other fast-moving industries
