Get to Know the Team
The VN Growth, Insights and Planning (GIP) team is Grab's strategic and operational think tank, driving marketplace growth and optimizing economics. We focus on delivering affordable, timely services for passengers/eaters, enhancing income for Drivers and Merchant Partners, and stimulating sustainable demand. Our team combines analytical and strategic thinking to produce data analysis, business insights, and financial planning. The team is composed of young, experienced individuals who thrive on challenges and are energized by delivering impactful results.
Get to Know the Role
The Business Insights Team within GIP specializes in transforming complex data into applicable insights to support faster business planning. Main responsibilities include designing intuitive dashboards for critical metrics, providing data-driven recommendations, and supporting experiment planning and execution to drive continuous improvement. You will report to the Manager, GIP - GMS Planning and work onsite at Grab office, Mapletree Business Centre, District 7, HCMC.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Independently assemble large and complex data sets that meet the business or analytical needs
- Analyze market trends, merchant/driver performance to deliver data-driven business insights
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand their problem statements, convert into a data-driven question, and develop analysis frameworks
- Build presentations to share actionable recommendations on opportunities for growth and improvement to stakeholders
- Assist teams in conducting experiments to evaluate new initiatives, interpret experiment results and provide recommendations
- Develop data insights and performance dashboards
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- A degree from a decent university in any discipline, 2+ years of experience in Business Insights Analysis
- Structural thinking and analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), PowerBI
- Strong business acumen: understand business objectives, market dynamics and financial implications.
- Sense of curiosity in seeking impactful opportunities and learning about marketplace dynamics
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese
Good to have (not required):
- Experience in processing and analyzing complex datasets and experience with piecing together data to form insights
- Experience in Management Consulting, Business Intelligence, Market Research, Investment Banking, E-commerce, Technology firms
- Familiarity with Python is a bonus
