The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading and supervising payroll engagements and ensuring that client deliverables — including salary processing, SHUI, Personal Income Tax (PIT), and labor law compliance — are accurate, timely, and meet both regulatory requirements and firm standards. This role involves direct client interaction, team management, process improvement, and support for business development initiatives. - Assist the Payroll Manager in leading and supervising the payroll team across multiple engagements.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to team members; support their professional development and performance improvement.
- Delegate tasks effectively and review deliverables prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes including salary calculation, SHUI, PIT reporting, and labour compliance.
- Serve as a key contact point for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and prompt issue resolution.
- Provide guidance and respond to client inquiries regarding the practical application of basic tax and labour regulations.
- Liaise with tax and labour authorities on behalf of clients.
- Identify risks, operational issues, or regulatory concerns and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
- Monitor engagement deadlines and ensure timely preparation and submission of reports and filings.
- Drive improvements in internal processes and workflow efficiency to enhance service quality.
- Support business development initiatives by nurturing client relationships and identifying cross-service opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Human Resource Management, C&B, Business Management, Law or Economics.
- At least 5-year of relevant experience in payroll services, with mandatory experience in a professional services or consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese labour laws, PIT, social insurance regulations, and other related compliance frameworks, with a proven ability to interpret and apply them effectively in a practical and client-focused manner.
- Fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills capable of handling multiple deadlines under pressure.
- Detail-oriented, result-driven, and capable of maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, supervise, and guide junior team members effectively.
