Job scope
The Internal Audit & Risk Assessment Director responsible for overseeing internal operating controls, processes, and practices of Fulbright University Vietnam.
The Internal Audit & Risk Assessment Director leads in providing oversight to all aspects of Fulbright operations to ensure of compliance with prevailing regulations of Vietnam and US Gov, compliance with donor specification

Roles and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Internal Audit & Risk Assessment Director includes but is not limited to:
· Present an annual internal audit plan on risk management framework to the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees for approval.
· Develop and maintain the Internal Audit Procedures to ensure that best practice is taken account of and that the audits address specific areas of risk management.
· Undertake the approved internal audit plan in line with agreed procedures liaising with the relevant department.
· Provide a full briefing to the relevant partners at the conclusion of audit visits.
· Discuss audit findings and make recommendations with departmental heads; identify and communicate control issues noted, offering practical solutions relevant to business and related risks.
· Coordinated the agreed and necessary action plan to implement the audit recommendations with the director of relevant departments.
· Monitor the implementation recommendations. Identify common features across audits and organization-wide issues, proposing appropriate systems improvements.
· Report to the the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees ensuring awareness of the key findings and the actions being taken to resolve any areas of concern.
· Conduct ad-hoc/special investigations and reviews as requested by management
· Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees from time to time.
Other duties:
Contributing to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we look for
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accountancy, or Finance
Experience:
o Strong knowledge of standards, procedures, and general auditing policies
o 7 years’ relevant work experience in auditing, preferable experience from big 4. Knowledge and experience working with funds and grants is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Leadership abilities – demonstrate leadership in working with relevant departments and diversify partners.
o Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for necessary interactions with internal partners, which must include fluency in Vietnamese and English
o Independent perspective and to constructively challenge the operations teams. Proactive, co-operative team player
o Ability to establish and manage control systems – ensure adequate assessment and mitigation of risk as well as compliance with applicable regulatory or other legal requirements
