Job Description
The successful candidate will be:
- Together with the local team, responsible for developing and expanding the company's presence in Vietnam through marketing and trading of agro-commodities.
- Activities involve soybeans, soybean meal, corn, wheat, and other products to serve the local feed and flour milling industries.
Main Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with Louis Dreyfus Company offshore offices for pricing updates and insights into the local market environment, competitive activities, and government regulations.
- Maintain daily contact with customers and potential buyers.
- Build strong relationships with customers and develop a solid understanding of counterparties’ businesses and requirements to secure repeat trades.
- Provide recommendations on the reliability of local buyers and work to expand the customer base.
- Understand the cost structure of traded commodities.
- Implement business plans and achieve company targets.
- Understand the balance sheet of commodity trades and provide regular updates.
- Have a clear understanding of both global and local trade flows.
- Propose initiatives and solutions to solve problems or create new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with other traders and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Analyze market data, trade performance, and customer trends to support decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Experience
- Experienced in commodity trading and marketing of agricultural products such as wheat, corn, and soybean meal, with familiarity in global regulatory environments.
- Possess at least 1–2 years of experience working in a multinational corporation.
Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the local feed and flour milling industry.
- Maintain strong rapport with buyers and a good reputation within the industry.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret market data and trading performance.
- Proactive and result-oriented.
- Effective communicator with excellent communication and negotiation skills in interactions with both internal and external partners.
- Able to work independently and under pressure, with a strong sense of teamwork.
- Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Languages:
- Effective command of spoken and written English to work with foreigners & English speakers.
