Get to Know the Team
The Business Process Automation (BPA) team is a longstanding group within Grab Operations, dedicated to coding automation solutions across all countries and verticals. Their mission is to reduce manual work, enhance system connectivity, and develop bespoke scripts that drive organizational value. The team is composed of diverse professionals, including data analysts, full-stack engineers, problem solvers, and innovators.
Get to Know the Role
As a Software Engineer in Test, you will conduct manual quality assurance checks and write automated test scripts to ensure software quality. You'll also troubleshoot issues in software and implement automated testing strategies and tools. You will own, track and drive quality processes(eg postmortems, oncall) for the team. You'll collaborate with engineering, product, design and business teams, to help achieve the team's goals..
You will report to the Regional BPA - Automation Platform Manager and work onsite at Grab office, CMC Creative Space, D7, HCMC.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will provide functional and regression testing for web applications.
- You will develop automated test scripts using automation frameworks, maintaining and enhancing these scripts.
- You will implement both manual and automated functional and regression test cases, maintaining automated test scripts.
- You will debug failed test cases and report defects with clear details to lead closure.
- You will work with developers, product owners, test leads, and engineers to improve testing efficiencies and expand test coverage.
- You will define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as proposed tools for functional, security, and performance testing in a programmatic manner.
- You will report to the Engineering Manager of the team.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience as QA Engineer/Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer.
- Solid understanding of test methodologies, test planning, test case design and test processes. Ability to debug failed test cases and report defects.
- Have hands-on coding experience with test automation, including script languages (Python) or other languages (Javascript, Go etc.) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber.
- Practical experience with SQL for database queries on metrics and testing.
- Experience using build and release pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent.
