SUMMARY
The Customs and Trade Specialist applies general knowledge of global trade to facilitate trade and ensures compliance with all import and export regimes and various other agency regulations globally, through tactical engagement with internal customers and external agencies and associations. Develops, implements and/or manages sub-sets of programs within broader programs such as Duty Optimization, Process Improvement Initiatives, and Global ‘Trusted Trader’ programs.

Executes core operations including training and process improvement for commercial document production, trade agreement qualification, order management

Monitors and evaluates trade facilitation programs and identifies opportunities to leverage trade to support global business objectives.

Guides colleagues on trade facilitation and cost saving opportunities.

Researches solutions and facilitates implementation of corrective action plans according to process improvement principles.

Participates in compliance audits.

Creates or reviews SOPs and process documentation.

Education
Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
Related Experience
Typically requires 2-4 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.
Additional Education or Specific Certification
Bachelor's or Advanced Degree preferred
Professional certification desired but not mandatory (US Customs Broker License, Lean, Six Sigma)
