Role Overview: Sr. Data Architect, Data & Cloud 

Location: ASEAN & Australia 

 
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Architect to design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud data solutions for high-stakes Banking and Telco transformations across ASEAN & Australia. You will lead end-to-end architecture, from pre-sales to delivery, ensuring security, compliance, and business value, while collaborating with clients, partners, and hyperscalers to shape and execute our modern Data & AI roadmap. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

•  Design and develop scalable cloud data architectures for efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval strategies.  
  

• Ensure data security, compliance, and governance are being maintained and become a part of the standard. 
  

• Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost, collaborate with stakeholders on data governance, data sharing, data encryption and security requirements.  
  

• Manage data integration across systems. Provide detailed design documentation (HLD, LLD) on source system integration, downstream dependencies, risk involves and its mitigation, implement disaster recovery and backup plans.  
  

• Implement the data quality requirement, introducing the data quality framework. Monitor and tune data systems for efficiency.  
  

• Lead data migration and modernization projects. Also helps customers to learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR and Amazon Redshift. 
  

• Deliver on-site technical engagements with customers. This includes understanding customer requirements and creating packaged Data & Analytics service offerings. 
  

• Proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services. 
  

• Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real world implementations and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services. 
  

• Engage with the customer’s business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise in their environment. 
  

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 
  

• 8+ years of experience in IT platform implementation within a technical and analytical role. 
  

• 5+ years of experience in Data Lake and AWS-based platform implementation. 
  

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and performance tuning AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR) and modern tech stack (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). 
  

• Expertise with AWS-based Hadoop ecosystem and related services. 
  

• Proficiency with one or more relevant tools (AWS Glue, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Zookeeper, AWS Lake Formation, Parquet, EMR). 
  

• Experience with one or more SQL-on-Hadoop/AWS technologies (Hive, Spark SQL, Athena, Redshift Spectrum). 
  

• Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, Scala). 
  

• Any additional experience with respect to the implementing the data integration for GenAI project like embedding knowledge base into vectorDB, chunking, MCP integration, tools integration etc. will be a plus. 
  

• Experience & Expertise Required 
   

• High-Stakes Industry Delivery – Proven track record in architecting and delivering large-scale, mission-critical banking (core banking modernization, AML, fraud analytics, risk & compliance systems) and telco (OSS/BSS, network data analytics, customer experience platforms) data platforms. 
  

• Multi-Country, Cross-Cultural Engagement – Experience working across ASEAN & Australia, engaging with diverse teams, adapting to different regulatory and business landscapes. 
  

• Regulatory & Compliance Expertise – Deep knowledge of PDPA, MAS TRM, APRA, GDPR and their application in secure, compliant data architecture design. 
  

• Cloud & Hybrid Data Architecture Mastery – Expertise in designing and implementing AWS-based (and hybrid/multi-cloud) enterprise data platforms, incorporating data lakes, real-time streaming, advanced analytics, and AI/ML integration. 
  

• Database & Analytics Technologies – Strong understanding of MPP and NoSQL databases, data warehouse design, BI reporting, dashboard development, and SQL-on-Hadoop/AWS technologies. 
  

• AWS Implementation Expertise – Demonstrated success implementing AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR) in distributed computing and enterprise environments. 
  

• End-to-End Ownership – Ability to lead the full lifecycle from pre-sales solutioning, architecture blueprinting, and governance design to delivery oversight and business value realization. 
  

• Partner & Vendor Collaboration – Experience co-developing joint solutions and accelerators with AWS, Azure, GCP, and other strategic partners. 
  

• Commercial & Business Acumen – Skilled at translating technical architectures into business value propositions for senior stakeholders, including CxOs. 
  

• Leadership & Mentoring – Proven ability to lead, mentor, and elevate distributed technical teams across geographies, embedding best practices in governance, performance, and cost efficiency. 
  

• Change Leadership – Track record of driving adoption of modern data architectures and influencing both technical and business stakeholders toward transformation goals. 
  

• Willingness to Travel – Comfortable with frequent travel within ASEAN & Australia for client, partner, and delivery engagement.
