POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Lecturer / Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Specifically, the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Master’s and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.
The Associate lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate programs. The Associate Lecturer / Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Associate Lecturer / Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The Associate Lecturer / Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Associate Lecturer: A Master's degree in the relevant discipline; have commenced or enrolled to commence in Doctoral course is preferred. Lecturer: a PhD in a relevant discipline. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. Ability to undertake course coordination role. The ability to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of games design Proven proficiency in three or more of the following
- Game Art (2D/3D character design & environments)
- Festival/Events Curation
- Games Studies
- Games Programming
- Systems Engineering
- Mobile Game Development
- Sound Design
- Unreal/Unity/Godot
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration. Recent and sustained performance regarding student outcomes, student experience and feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings. Ability to operate within own discipline and cross-disciplinary/multidisciplinary teams to achieve department and University strategic outcomes. Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT Values.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (academic, with no skill less than 6.5) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
WORK PERMIT
As an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ related experience.
