Your role
The Career Development & Internship Consultant is responsible for ensuring the development of RMIT’s high quality and innovative co-curricular professional skills development program and suitable internship positions are available for RMIT Vietnam students. The Career Development & Internship Consultant will work closely with the students, academic schools, and industry and be responsible for the design, promotion, delivery and evaluation of the Career Development program and ensure students are successfully placed into high quality internship positions. The focus is on providing creative and innovative ways to prepare RMIT students for life and work, whilst ensuring maximum student engagement.
Reports to: Manager, Career Development & Employment
Key Accountabilities
Internship:
Coordinate the Internship program of degrees across schools.
Update and facilitate workshops, provide one-on-one or group consultation to students regarding the internship and the recruitment process
Work collaboratively with the academic schools and other university stakeholders at all levels across RMIT.
Create reports on internship trends (industry and student’s needs) to be shared with all relevant stakeholders
Record and track all internship data, requests from all industry partners in order to have an updated database of opportunities for RMIT students
Work with industry partners to attract high quality internship opportunities for RMIT students
Career Development:
Research, design, promote and deliver modules for the Career Development program to develop and enhance the professional skills of students across RMIT Vietnam campuses.
Monitor the development of Career Development program content. Ensure module content meets the learning outcomes.
Project manage the delivery of the program in terms of logistics including booking rooms, scheduling and identifying and obtaining required resources, that fall within budget.
Liaise with relevant academic and professional RMIT staff and industry partners to ensure Career Development remains a high profile and prestigious program, both within the University and externally.
Evaluate and utilize program feedback to continually innovate and improve the program.
Ensure quality assurance processes are met.
Work collaboratively with the Data Analyst and other relevant staff to collect data on student registration and attendance at workshops. Analyze statistical and other information, as required.
Any other duties as directed by the manager.
Key Selection Criteria
Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (Education, Training, Human Resource Development or similar)
At least 4 years of experience in the design, development, delivery, reporting and project management of creative and innovative professional and personal development programs, activities, events and/or training
Sound knowledge and understanding of career development and employability principles and practices, particularly in regards to the needs of tertiary students and recent graduates.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability and confidence to speak in public and present to diverse audiences is desirable.
Well-developed interpersonal and networking skills, including negotiation, liaison and cross-cultural communication, for relationship building and consultation with key internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated planning, organizational, budgetary management and problem - solving skills with the ability to coordinate and/or implement tasks in a timely fashion.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team environment and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Ability to display appropriate behaviors in line with the position and RMIT Values.

English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General 6.0 (or equivalent Linguaskill 160).
