Your Role
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of a diverse range of minor capital and renovations projects whilst providing coordination support for major capital projects at RMIT Vietnam, in order to ensure the effective use of space and to maintain a high standard of facilities within buildings on campus. Minor capital projects cover small scale infrastructure, building interior space upgrade projects to sustain and improve teaching, learning and working environment. This position will manage technical drawings, specifications and project reports.
Reports to: Senior Project Manager, Property Services
Key Accountabilities
Lead the implementation & delivery of a variety of minor capital and renovation projects.
In a coordination capacity, support the project team to deliver major capital projects at the University.
Ensure safety standards are followed at all time across all project works.
Participate in tender evaluation & procurement process as required.
Coordinate & review of construction documentation in accordance with RMIT design standards.
Be the point of contact on projects with regards to scheduling, contractor & consultant management, and other project related information.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, RMIT team and external contractors to ensure delivery of projects within project timeframes & budget.
Schedule regular meetings, record decisions and assigned tasks.
Liaise with stakeholders & end-users to gain a clear understanding of the project scope, objectives and intended outcomes.
Effectively plan projects setting clear actions or tasks to ensure effective delivery within agreed programme.
Manage, forecast, monitor, control and report on project finances throughout the life of the project / program. Upon completion of projects, analyse and report on actual costs against approved costs to ensure there is no over-expenditure in project/program costs.
Monitor project progress and capture and manage risks/issues; communicating risks to stakeholders as an when required.
Manage the efficient and cost-effective completion of assigned projects using RMIT Gateway Project Management Process during formulation, design, construction and commissioning phases.
Project finalisation, collating hand-over documentation, follow up defect & liability management.
Key Selection Criteria
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Construction or Project Management.
At least three years of experience in a similar Project Coordinator with a sound understanding of Project management methodology, especially relating to architecture, construction industry or facility management.
Ability to read, draw, and modify existing drawings using CAD software (2D & 3D). Experience of BIM related software is also desirable.
Experience in the preparation of flowcharts, schedules, action plans and simple budget tracking.
Demonstrated experience in drawing, record and retrieve.
Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
Strong stakeholder relationship management and teamwork skills.
Working knowledge in managing risks & problem solving.
Working knowledge of project management tools and alternatives.
Experience of applying IT technology into communication and project management will be well regarded.

English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General 5.5 (or equivalent Linguaskill 160).
