About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and creative intern to join our Technical Department in building a centralized SharePoint hub (similar to a microsite) for all departments within the company. This hub will serve as a one-stop digital space for key resources, updates, and collaboration tools.
The ideal candidate is a tech enthusiast with strong organizational skills, the ability to research best practices, and the communication skills to engage with various Heads of Department (HODs) to gather content and ideas.
Please note: This is an unpaid internship.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Planning
- Conduct research on best practices for SharePoint hub/microsite design and structure.
- Identify what content should be included for each department and propose an effective site map.
- Benchmark with other organizations’ intranet/microsite structures for inspiration.
2. Content Gathering & Coordination
- Liaise with HODs and key stakeholders to collect content, documents, and departmental updates.
- Collaborate with departments to refine and organize information for clarity and usability.
3. SharePoint Hub Development
- Build and configure the SharePoint site to be user-friendly, visually appealing, and functional.
- Apply branding, layout design, and navigation best practices to enhance user experience.
- Ensure the hub is structured for scalability and easy maintenance.
4.Testing & Feedback
- Conduct user testing and gather feedback to improve the hub’s functionality and content.
- Make iterative updates based on user needs and business priorities.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Basic understanding of SharePoint or willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong research skills with the ability to turn insights into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Creative mindset with an eye for layout, design, and usability.
Preferred:
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft 365 tools, or web design platforms.
- Familiarity with content management and information architecture.
- Previous experience in student projects or internships involving digital platforms.
