The Opportunity
We are seeking a professional to join the Acumen team in HCMC to provide full-time support to one of our higher education clients, Central Queensland University* (CQU). As a Student Recruitment Manager, you will work with our Partner Success team and the rest of our growing offices in Southeast Asia (SEA).

Role Summary :
The Student Recruitment Manager will report to the International Business Development Manager – South East Asia, CQU, and provide updates to the Head of Operations. The RM will work closely with the International Directorate based in Australia and build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to represent CQU, build the University’s portfolio of international students in Vietnam initially and other countries in the region in the future. This position may be required to support CQU to engage in international student recruitment activities in other markets within SEA as directed by the International Business Development Manager – SEA.
The incumbent will support this purpose through representing the university at recruitment events, providing training to education agent counsellors while building and managing these relationships, and proactively supporting prospective students for their study journey. As well, identifying opportunities to work with government departments and other educational institutions for future collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of activities to achieve annual recruitment targets set for the Vietnam market as requested.
- Contribute to the University’s market intelligence through gathering, synthesising, and sharing relevant current market information and opportunities that can support the University to meet and exceed recruitment targets.
- Represent the University, demonstrating professionalism and the University’s values, at education promotion and recruitment events, such as exhibitions, seminars, and events organised by recruitment agents or directly, and actively contribute to raising the University’s profile and marketability.
- Work collaboratively across the University’s International Recruitment, Marketing, and Student Acquisition teams to deliver on shared targets, build capabilities to improve recruitment activities.
- Work effectively with International Admissions to ensure the University’s Admission Guidelines and Policies are adhered to, along with complying with the Code of Conduct.
- Assist the University’s International Business Development Manager, providing insights and inputs to a range of other tasks as required, including but not limited to:
- Input into international recruitment strategies and planning for Vietnam, including market plan and budgets
- Supporting the International Business Development Manager – South East Asia to organise and manage recruitment events and activities to promote study at CQU
- Providing internal and external reporting
- Monitoring the existing partnerships that the University has, and promoting the Transnational Education program whenever possible.
- Representing the University at activities organised by the university and at external forums, and undertaking other duties as assigned by the senior team members.
- Organising and conducting visits to the campus by agents, representatives, and other officials from partner universities.
- This role may require work outside the normal span of hours, and travel is a regular requirement of this position.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of a degree and/or relevant combination of skills and experience.
- At least 5 years of working experience in the international education industry.
- Demonstrated experience in international education recruitment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present effectively to groups, and with a diverse range of people and organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a matrix structural team.
- High level of responsibility and accountability for completing tasks within specified timeframes.
- Uses own expertise and seeks others’ expertise to achieve team and division goals.
- Fluent in Vietnamese and English.
- A valid passport with the ability to travel around Vietnam and Australia.
