Job Summary: The Patent Clerk will play a crucial role in assisting the patent team with various administrative and technical tasks related to patent prosecution and management. This position requires a strong understanding of patent processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patent attorneys and agents in the preparation and filing of patent applications, including drafting documents, preparing forms, and conducting preliminary patent searches.
- Manage and maintain patent docketing systems to ensure timely filing and compliance with deadlines.
- Coordinate communication with clients, inventors, and external stakeholders regarding patent matters.
- Conduct research on patent laws, regulations, and procedures to support the patent team in their efforts.
- Prepare and organize materials for meetings, presentations, and client consultations.
- Maintain accurate records of patent applications, correspondence, and related documents.
- Support the patent team in monitoring and analyzing patent portfolios for clients.
- Other task required by the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., science, engineering, law) or equivalent experience in intellectual property or patent support.
- Previous experience in a patent support role or within an IP firm is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Proficient in using patent management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent English skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
