BASF has been active in Vietnam since the establishment of its representative office in 1994 and celebrates its 30-year presence in the country this year. BASF Vietnam Limited was set up in 2009. The company maintains two sales offices in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội, offering solutions for Vietnam’s key industries, including Agriculture, Construction, Automotive, Footwear, Paints & Coatings and Electrical & Electronics. BASF’s sales to customers in Vietnam were approximately €238 million in 2023. BASF employed 110 people in Vietnam as of the end of the year.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION


Identify business opportunities to drive business growth in asset management and public
health sectors (Pest Control) in South of Vietnam. Drive financial performance with desired
business quality and also create value for customers.


MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES


Business Development for Professional and Specialty Solutions Segments

  • Develop business and secure more sales in collaboration with distributor with the
support of Regional P&SS Team.
  • Honor sales, profitability and market spending targets for the year and month on
month as agreed with Regional P&SS.
  • Drive potential sales in untapped segments such as Professional Pest
Management, Home & Garden , Turf & Ornamentals.
  • Be responsible for designing and implementing effective promotional activities
including (but limited to), demonstrations, sales promotional meeting with PCOs,
meeting construction industry experts/ influencers like Architect or government
officials, secure due accreditation for our portfolio to expand product usage.
  • Identify new market opportunities with Regional PSS Team.
  • Effectively coordinate with supply chain, regulatory, controlling and other relevant
functions to smoothly coordinate business.
  • Analyze market demands, current/future competitiveness of products/ pricing/
services and lead the activities to develop and penetrate potential markets.
  • Make regular sales calls, sales visits with distributors.
  • Provide timely feedback on market trends, sales forecast to support for defining
stock levels; follow up and ensure product supply to wholesalers / retailers.
  • Drive product trials and demos to support market development needs.
  • Support Long Term Strategic Planning
  • Provide Monthly Regional Business Review Updates


Project Tendering

  • Seek for opportunities to secure tender projects with MOH and drive more sales.
New Product Launch
  • Drive new PSS product launches in collaboration with Regional and Global P&SS
Teams.

Business Development in Asset Management

  • Look for opportunities to grow AP business in Vietnam through in-licensing and outlicensing
with agrochemical partners.
  • Seek for partners to sell A.I, Tech as well as acquire new product portfolio to fulfil
and complement the portfolio gap for AP in Vietnam.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Degree in Agriculture or relevant
  • Min five years sales and marketing experiences in agrochemical or Professional
Pest management or similar industry with proven business and leadership skills.
  • Experience in Pest Control, Professional Specialty Solutions segment would be an
advantage but not a must.Good communication in English and good computer skills
(MS. Office).
  • Understanding Vietnam agriculture/ Pest control or similar filed network and
landscape
  • Knowledge of Agrochemical industry / market / products.
  • Good commands in English and Ms. Office.
