Description
Position Summary:
As the Head of Freight Solutions Development at ZIM Logistics Vietnam, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by developing freight solutions, leading strategic initiatives, and expanding service offerings. This senior management role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the logistics and freight forwarding industry, strong commercial acumen, and proven leadership capabilities. In addition to business development, this role also oversees freight solutions strategy and marketing activities to strengthen ZIM Logistics Vietnam’s market positioning and competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Freight Solutions Development
• Develop, implement, and manage strategic plans to expand ZIM Logistics Vietnam’s service portfolio, including ocean, air, trucking, warehousing, customs clearance, and project logistics.
• Identify market needs and design integrated freight solutions tailored to customer requirements.
• Continuously improve and innovate freight services based on customer feedback and market trends.
2. Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain high-level relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Develop and execute client acquisition and retention strategies to ensure long-term business partnerships and high satisfaction rates.
3. Pricing Management
• Ensure Zim Logistics pricing is competitive, profitable, and aligned with market benchmarks.
• Represent Zim Logistics to establish and maintain relationship with carriers and other vendors.
4. Marketing & Brand Positioning
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to design and execute marketing campaigns that promote ZIM Logistics’ brand and solutions.
• Represent the company in industry events, trade shows, and networking platforms.
5. Sales & Contract Negotiation
• Lead negotiations and close strategic partnerships or customer contracts.
• Support sales teams in major tenders or key account development with customized freight solutions.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with internal teams including Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and IT to ensure end-to-end service excellence.
• Troubleshoot client issues and ensure swift resolution in collaboration with internal departments.
8. Leadership & Team Development
• Potentially lead, coach, and develop a team of freight solution specialists;
9. Reporting & Performance Tracking
• Define performance metrics and track progress against commercial and strategic goals.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA would be a plus.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, preferably with an international logistics or freight forwarding company.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team would be a plus.
- Extensive understanding of logistics operations, including air, ocean, trucking, and warehousing services.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in using business intelligence tools for market analysis.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese is necessary.
